Take a Break was founded in 2000 after discovering a need within our beautiful Wine Country to provide services to visiting families.

Vicki Clements, Owner, has developed a resource for local Hotels, Inns and Resorts to refer guests in need of various services from individual childcare, children’s group events, parties, pet sitting, as well as elderly companionship.

Take a Break is an insured company. Safety and education is foremost in the ever-changing child environment. All of the Take a Break employees are our employees and are not independent contractors. Each staff member is CPR and first aid trained, fingerprinted, and comes with experience, reliability and dedication needed to ensure a successful experience for the families.

We understand and respect a parent’s need to know who is taking care of their children. This is why we at Take a Break take the time to introduce you to the staff members’ qualifications, personality, as well as experience. We do require that we also obtain important information from the families as to needs of the children, personality traits, and health concerns so we can match the most appropriate staff member.

It is our philosophy here at Take a Break that interaction with the children is paramount. Television, although a comfort for some, is discouraged to promote interaction with the children and staff member with games, art projects, reading and outdoor activities.
